Oct 20 2017: Stitch n’ Bitch

Feminist MakerSpace

Oct 20, 2017 12pm – 2pm in ATC 1.917

The “Stitch and Bitch” dates back to the early 20th century when it was used to refer to regular meetings of women’s knitting groups. In this case, we welcome stitching of any kind: knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and hand sewing. Catch stitch and catch up. Back tack and talk back. Do a little rantering and do a little ranting.

While we stitch, Kim Knight will tell us about “Black Ribbon for Mourning,” a new wearable tech collaboration with Jessica Murphy and Dale MacDonald that they are preparing for HASTAC 2017. If you don’t have anything to stitch, you’ll be invited to work on a piece of this project.
